Visiting a sauna for the first time can be VERY exciting, but also a little overwhelming. We get it!

Here are a list of questions you might have as a first timer, to give you some more information on the venue:

Where do I enter?
Entry to PSW is on Forbes Road, a discreet side street with parking outside or in the shopping centre carpark next door. There is a blue wall, with our logo above and as you enter, you’ll see a neon sign and a staircase. The door is at the top! If the door is closed, we will normally release it within a few seconds. There is an intercom you can press also. The door is unlocked for you when it buzzes and a green light comes on (it’s red when locked), simply pull it open to reach our front desk.

What happens once I get inside?
Once inside reception you pay the entry fee (all cards including Amex and cash are accepted.

All charges will discreetly appear (so no unwanted names on bank statements)

A card payment fee applies.

We also have an ATM onsite should you need it that simply shows the ATM Brand on your bank statement and has no reference to Perth Steam Works.

This is the most discrete option should you wish to use a card.

The staff will give you a locker key and a towel. If you tell them you haven’t been before they’ll happily show you around and take you to your locker. You then change into your towel and store your items in your locker.

Do I have to wear a towel?

We get that wearing a towel can be a daunting experience, but you find that you get used to it really quickly, and because everyone else is also wearing a towel, there’s no judgement. We celebrate bodies of all different shapes and sizes at our venue, and we find all of our patrons are super friendly and respectful towards each other.

What if I don’t want to hook up?

At Steam Works, we are all about a social setting. We offer a safe space for men to meet men without any pressure or judgement. There are two bars, an outside beer garden and a lounge area, as well as a spa and sauna to hang out in. Whilst we do have rooms and a maze for those who want to participate, there is absolutely no pressure to do so. We also have a very strict no means no policy which the staff take very seriously. If you ever feel pressured or pestered in the venue, you can let one of the staff no and it will be dealt with seriously. We want you to relax and have a good time whilst feeling safe and respected.

When is it busy?

Steam Works varies in numbers throughout the week, however we find night times to be busier than the lunch rush. If you are coming for the first time and want it to be a little more quiet, try a weekday around lunch. For a busier time, Thursday night nude night is very popular, and the weekends are always very busy. Friday / Saturday nights are very busy and we have a DJ from 8PM-Midnight on Saturday Nights!

Can I leave and come back?
Absolutely, you can come and go as you please throughout that day. We will give you an invisible stamp to show at the door when you return.

Do I leave my phone and wallet in my locker?
Yes. You get a locker key with a number on entry and you can use that number to pay for drinks or food from our cafe! When you leave, you pay the balance on your locker number.
We have a STRICT no phones on the floor policy. If you wish to use your phone, you can do so from inside your locker.

Can I douche at the venue?
Of course! You can purchase a single use hose from reception for $10, and we have special taps designed especially for them in the toilet cubicles. Really convenient and easy to use!

We also have a hair-dryer, hair gel and deodorant free to use, just ask the staff :)

What if I see someone I know ?
We have been working hard over the past few months to really flatten out the stigma around sauna venues, we know sometimes people worry about what others might think if they see them at Steam Works, and to that we say: What happens at Steam Works stays at Steam Works.
We are respectful of everyone’s privacy and we know that our patrons are also very respectful of this.

Everyone is there to enjoy themselves and have a good time!

If you want more information on visiting Steam Works, check out our instagram highlight called ‘SPACE’ it will show you a little more about the venue.

We hope to see you soon!
